Shorstville - Elaine F Eagley, 98, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 5, 2024, with her family by her side.

Please join the family at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2023, at St. Dominic Church, 97 West Main Street, Shortsville, NY 14548, for Elaine's funeral mass. Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery. Following the funeral mass, everyone is invited to the Depot 25 Restaurant, 15 W. Main Street, Shortsville for a reception.

Elaine was born the daughter of the late Paul and Florence (Beaton) Appleton on Sunday, December 20, 1925, in Geneva, NY. Her childhood unfolded in the local area, navigating through the challenges of the Great Depression while attending Geneva schools. After dedicating twenty-five years of service, Elaine retired from Red Jacket Schools, where she worked in the cafeteria. Her social circle brought her joy, whether she was savoring coffee at McDonald's with friends, trying her luck at the casino, engaging in one of her numerous card clubs, or participating in the Red Hat Society. Welcoming the arrival of spring, Elaine eagerly tended to her flowers and gardens at home. However, above all, she treasured moments spent with her family.

Elaine will be remembered by her three sons Robert Jr. (Caroline), Steven Sr. (Georgette) and David (Cheryl); her six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; and her one great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews.

Elaine was predeceased by her husband, Robert Sr. in 2002; and her siblings Paul Jr. (Marie) Appleton, Oliver "Pudge" (Alice) Appleton, Ted (Flora) Appleton, Lillian (George) Darling and Tommie (Louie) Malone.
