Gordon B. Crowell

Gordon Crowell of Manchester, NY passed away peacefully at Clifton Springs Hospital on January 21, 2019, at the amazing age of 95.

He was predeceased by two loving wives, Ruth Chambers Crowell, and Barbara (Weed) Crowell; his son- in law, Thomas Coyne.

He is survived by four children, Tom (Maryellen) Crowell, Christine Coyne, Doug (Blair Carter) Crowell, and Joanne (Rev. Doug) Hahn; sisters, Ruth Peters of Shortsville, NY, and Jane Johnson of Spring, TX; close friend, Mary Bond; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Crowell served his country during WWII and then returned home to become the principal owner of the family business of R.B. Crowell and Son. For nearly 50 years he was influential in the agricultural business in Ontario County. Gordon was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Manchester throughout his entire life. He belonged to the Lions Club for many years and served on the Manchester Village Planning Board. He had many friends throughout Ontario County and beyond.

Calling hours will be held at Halsted-Patrick Funeral Home, 19 North Main St. Manchester, Monday (January 28) from 3 – 7 PM. A funeral service will be held Tuesday (January 29th) at the First Baptist Church, 54 South Main St., Manchester at 11 AM.
