Irene Durizch Hale

Shortsville - Irene D. Hale, 89, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at M.M. Ewing Continuing Care in Canandaigua, NY.

Family will greet friends Tuesday, January 8, from 3-7 PM at Halsted-Patrick Funeral Home, 19 North Main Street, Manchester, NY. A Funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Wednesday, January 9, at St. Dominic Church, 97 West Main Street, Shortsville, NY. Burial will take place in Athens, PA at the convenience of the family.

Irene was born the daughter of the late Alex and Mary (Novotny) Durizch on Monday, December 2, 1929, in Sayre, PA. Irene graduated from Sayre High School in 1947. She worked as a waitress for over 40 years at Finger Lakes Race Track and Caruso's Restaurant. Irene enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren at family gatherings.

Irene will be remembered by her sons, Jack Hale Jr.and Bob (Janet) Hale; grandchildren, John Hale, Gregory (Kelly) Hale, Julia Hale, Matthew (Crystal) Grant, Jeremy Borsching, Tricia (Emmanuel) Alizota, Kate Hale, and Jamie Sue Hale; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Durizch; and several nieces and nephews.

Irene was predeceased by her husband, John Hale Sr.; and siblings, Joseph, Priscilla, and Dolores. .
