Shortsville - John J. Healy, 75 passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2019, with his family by his side.

Family will greet friends at Halsted- Patrick Funeral Home 19 North Main Street, Manchester, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Sunday (Feb. 17). A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, (Feb. 18) at 10AM at St. Dominic Church, 97 West Main Street Shortsville, NY. Entombment will be in St. Rose Cemetery following the Funeral Mass.

John was born the son of the late Thomas A. and Anna (Brennan) Healy on Tuesday, February 16, 1943 in New York City. JJ graduated from Holy Cross School in New York City. He moved to the Shortsville area in 1964, and worked as a horse jockey at Finger Lakes Race Track. Later, he worked for New York State as an inspector in the testing barn, testing horses after their races. JJ loved spending time with his wife, son and especially his granddaughter.

John will be remembered by his wife, Judy Healy; son, Daniel T. Healy; granddaughter, Faith H. Healy; brother, James (Patricia) Healy; sisters, Kathleen McGettrick and Mary Healy.

John was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Thomas (Joanne) Healy; brother-in-law, Douglas McGettrick.
