MANCHESTER: Betty M. Ross, 86, went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, surrounded by her loving family, at her home on December 31, 2019, after a brief illness
Friends may call on Thursday (Jan. 9) from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Halsted-Patrick Funeral Home, 19 North Main Street, Manchester, NY. Betty's funeral service will be held Friday (Jan. 10) at 11am at the First Baptist Church, 54 South Main Street, Manchester with burial in Brookside Cemetery to follow. A Mercy Reception will follow the funeral service at the Turner Schrader Post 34 American Legion in Shortsville from Noon to 7p.m.
Betty was born May 14, 1933, and lived her entire life in Manchester. She was co-owner of Someplace Else Restaurant and worked at DiPacific's Restaurant for many years. She is a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was always there to brighten the lives of others. Her indomitable spirit encouraged her family and friends to face life with a smile and a warm embrace. Betty is loved by all who knew her, and leaves a legacy of kindness, generosity, compassion, and love. Betty, Mom, Grandma, Tata, we will miss you everyday.
She leaves behind her children, Karen Charvonia of Scottsdale, AZ, Ramona (Kurt) Palmer, Regina (Jim) Lonneville, Pamela (Tom) Twitchell, Virgil (Michelle) Ross of Fountain Hills, AZ, Kimberly (Tom Seaman) Smalt, Candice (David) Schneggenburger, and Toni (Eldon Payne) Ross; grandchildren, Kurtis Palmer, Marissa and Vanessa Lonneville, Ryan (Anita) and Carrie Twitchell, Olivia and Sarah Ross, Justin Smalt and Kasandra (Joseph) Campbell, Joseph Schneggenburger, and Alex and Kennedy Payne; great-grandchildren, Lilah, Ameliah, and Joey; sister, Helen Valenti; several nieces and nephews; and many other cherished relatives and friends.
Betty was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Eva Toney; brothers, Bobbie Toney, John Toney, George Toney, John "Jake" Abbott, and Michael George "Punk" Abbott; and sisters, Margorie "Marge" Spencer, Martha Kelly, Jean Boulder, and Eva "Debe" Abbott-Kouger.
