Manchester - Gary D. Pappert, 88, passed on Friday, November 3, 2023.
The family will greet friends from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2023, at Halsted-Patrick Funeral Home, 19 North Main Street, Manchester, NY. Gary's graveside service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at St. Rose Cemetery, Shortsville, New York.

Gary was born the son of the late George L. and Dorothy I (MacCumber) Pappert on Wednesday, May 1, 1935, in Manchester, NY. He remained rooted in the area, completing his education with pride at Red Jacket High School as a member of the Class of 1953. Gary's professional journey led him to a career as a machinist at Kodak, where he dedicated twenty-three years before his well-earned retirement.
He was an avid outdoorsman, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout at a young age and maintaining his passion for hunting and fishing throughout his life. One of his greatest joys was their property on Hickory Lake, where he shared unforgettable moments with family and the "mountain gang," creating cherished memories together. Gary was also a dedicated lifelong fan of the Buffalo Bills.
Gary will be remembered by his loving wife of seventy years, Elizabeth; his children Jac (Danielle) Pappert, Robert (Kathleen) Pappert and Donna (Robert) Clemente; grandchildren Danielle, Krystal, Nichole, Brendan, Nicholas, Alexandra and Natalie; great-grandchildren, Caiden, Ethan, Noah, Gavin, Titus, Leo and Breanna; brothers Mark Pappert and Donald Pappert; sisters-in-law, Ruth Peters and Annie Peters; brother-in-law, Bernard D'Arduini; many nieces nephews.
Gary was predeceased by a daughter, Debra Pappert; his grandchild, Chad; sisters Lorraine Procko and Jean Warner; a brother, Arthur Pappert.
