Shortsville - James R Bugbee, 89, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Clifton Springs Hospital.

Please join the family at 4 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2022, at St. Rose Cemetery, Shortsville Road, Shortsville, NY for James' graveside service.

James was born the son of the late Glenn and Gertrude (Fallon) Bugbee on Friday, September 2, 1932, in Canandaigua, NY. He was raised in the Canandaigua area, attending Canandaigua schools. James married the love of his life, Mary Jane, on June 28, 1952, and settled in the Shortsville area. James was known as the drum corp "Dad" to the Shortsville Shamrocks Drum Corp.; he was not only dedicated to managing the corp and to mentor the children. James retired after many years with Kurz & Zobel as a machinist in Rochester. James served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1954. He was a member of St. Dominic Parish in Shortsville, NY, and the American Legion Turner Schrader Post #34. James loved spending time with his family, never missing his grandchildren's baseball games. He enjoyed gardening and supporting his daughter and son-in-law's racehorses by attending races either in person or at a track where simulcast was available. .

James will be remembered by his children Tina Marie (James) Bond and Jamie Bugbee; grandchildren Kevin (Grace Bobo) Bond, Ryan (Emilie) Bond and their son, Benjamin, Kyla Bugbee and Corrie Janto and their mother, Charlene Janto; several nieces and nephews.

James was predeceased by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary Jane and his siblings.
