Jean M Kettell
Manchester - It is with deep sadness that we announce that, Jean Marie Kettell, beloved sister, mother and grandmother, was called to heaven suddenly on September 11, 2023. The world was blessed by her presence for 91 years.
She was predeceased by her parents, Fannie May and James Murphy, her husband and life partner Richard O. Kettell of 64 years, brother in law Daniel Bryan, daughter in law Lisa P Kettell, and niece Sherry J. Bryan.
Jean is survived by her twin sister and life companion Joan A. Bryan, brother James C. Murphy and Shirley, and her seven children; Richard J Kettell and Janet, Linda J. O'Neil, James G Kettell, Thomas P Kettell, Kathleen J. Petrino, Carol A. Rinder and Patrick, and David O. Kettell and Mariella. She is also survived by two nieces, one nephew, 13 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was born in Buffalo, NY, but lived the majority of her life in Rochester and Henrietta, NY. She left us in Manchester, NY where she and her husband tended a thoroughbred horse farm in retirement. Her absolute joy was spending time with her family and sharing life with her twin sister Joan as they went shopping, collected books for reading, loving their doggies, feeding and housing the birds and tending to her garden and solar lights. Jean's house was always full of music from her singing, her radio emitting classical music and opera, and the cockatiels that kept her company with their whistling, squawking and singing. She lived passionately each day of her life, leaving us with a legacy of love, joy and resilience!
A private service will be held in Manchester, NY.
In lieu of flowers the family requests any donations be made to animal shelter and dog rescue organizations.
