Irondequoit/Shortsville - Margaret R. DeFlyer, 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.

The family will greet friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Halsted-Patrick Funeral Home, 19 North Main Street, Manchester, NY 14504. Margaret's memorial service will follow visitation at 2 p.m. with Father Amato officiating. Private burial in Brookside Cemetery.

Margaret was born on Friday, November 27, 1931, in Mt Morris, NY, as the daughter of the late Charles F. and Theresa (Rizzo) Miceli. Growing up in the Mt. Morris area, she graduated as salutatorian from Mt. Morris High School in the class of 1949. Following her high school years, Margaret pursued her RN degree and embarked on a thirty-five-year career at the Cananadaigua Veterans Hospital, finding fulfillment in her work. A devoted communicant of St. Dominic Church, she was a former member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. During her leisure time, Margaret enjoyed painting and reading.

Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Edward DeFlyer; brothers Paul and Joseph Miceli; her sister-in-law, Eloise Miceli.

Margaret will be remembered by her children, Cliff (Kim) DeFlyer and Julie (Bill) Poehlmann; her grandchildren Mallory, Gwen, Tess (Aaron), Matt and Nick; her great-grandchildren, James, Jasmine and Ari; a brother, Chuck Miceli; sisters-in-law, Patricia and Barbara Miceli; and many nieces and nephews.
