Nathan was the son of Nathan Sr. and Mildred (Fox) Aldrich. A descendant of the founders of Farmington, he was born July 31, 1921. He graduated from Manchester High School in 1938. Nathan enlisted in the Army in 1943 and served his country as a parachute rigger and repairman until 1946. Nathan married Elma Baker at the Friends Meeting House on April 5, 1946, in a double ceremony with Elma's twin sister and her husband. Nathan and Elma were married for sixty-five years and were a loving example to all who knew them.

Nathan managed his family dairy farm until he retired. In his retirement, he continued to raise beef cattle and nurture his property. He and Elma together enjoyed gardening, friends, and grandchildren. In later years, he also enjoyed riding his gator and mowing lawn.

Nathan was an active member of the Farmington Friends Meeting, served on the Red Jacket School Board and the Town of Farmington Board.

Nathan enjoyed visiting with the many family, friends, and neighbors who stopped to see him over the years. These visits lifted his spirits and kept him in touch with the community, and they are treasured reminders of the caring of the people around him.

Nathan is survived by his children Stanley (Candace) Aldrich, Dianne Aldrich and Karen (Michael) Butler; grandchildren, Sarah Lents, Eliza (Kevin) Reynolds, Carrie (Jeffrey) Moses and Patrick (Melanie Fleck) Butler; great-grandchildren, Emily, Miles, Adelaide and Florence Moses and Felix Butler; brother-in-law, Edward (Joyce) DeJaeger; sister-in-law Joyce Aldrich; many nieces and nephews.

Nathan is predeceased by his wife of sixty-five years, Elma, and his siblings Robert Aldrich, Harley Aldrich, Verne Aldrich, Claire Aldrich and Laura DeJaeger.
